The Lies Women Tell

There’s the issue that men don’t understand women and women think they understand men but don’t. But often, it’s actually because of the presence of lies in a relationship that leave both parties baffled and clueless about what they want from each other.

But it’s important to know that trust is something that you must build from the beginning of the relationship. Even though, many will justify that some lies are meant to said in order to maintain a good relationship. For instance, ‘‘white lies” are said in order to make others feel better,

Woman: Do you think I put on weight/ Am I fat?

Man: (thinks she has put on weight) No dear.. you look just fine.

On the other hand, women lie because, as ‘caring creatures’ they want to spare the feelings of the man they are dating or seeing. There are some common lies told by women that people should know the real meaning behind them, especially the men. :P

So here goes..

1. Don’t worry, it happens to everyone.

>> Well, I think that this lie is a very common one. Because it serves as a reassurance to a person that he/she is fine with whatever problem/situation that she is facing. Well, a girl normally tells this lie because she doesn’t want to show you how upset she is. But in her mind, she’s really thinking otherwise. But often, it’s just a nice way of saying, “Just let me think and leave me alone.” As you see, what a woman says is not what she really thinks.

2. Nothing’s wrong.

>> The most common lie ” I’m fine” when asked if they are fine, is really the most used by women. But often, it’s really a lie in the face. It’s obvious that she is upset, she is acting strange and she doesn’t want to talk to you too much. But when you ask her what is the problem she says that everything is fine. Well, that’s coz they don’t want to tell you the real truth and because they are expecting men to figure out that something is wrong and to figure out the solution especially, when they were had to do with it or is the cause of it.

3. I love you just the way you are and I wouldn’t change a thing about you.

>> This is my favourite and the one that I find funniest. But let’s be serious; nobody is perfect. Well, girls are always in the ‘honeymoon period’ where at the beginning of a relationship all of them say this because they don’t really know you very well and well, they indeed fell in love with who you are. But after some time, they will definitely find something that needs changed – your behaviour, your habits etc. So, be wary when she says this because you’ll know it was just a matter of time, before it changes.

4. I like spending time with your friends.

>> It can be a truth or a lie. Depending what kind of relationship she has with your friends, whether she has a personal relationship with each and every one of them or fif it’s just a hi-bye kind of situation. But remember, even if they are your good friends, she would like to spend more time alone with you and not with your friends.

5. You’re right.

>> Every argument you have, usually ends up with your girl telling you that you are right. This is the ultimate big lie.  It’s because she perhaps just wants you to stop trying to prove yourself to be right, in crude terms, “to shut up and get over it”. Interesting but true.

6. I don’t mind.

>> Maybe she agrees to stay and watch with you every week at a football game but this doesn’t really mean that she like it. Or maybe, she doesn’t like to eat spicy food but she doesn’t mind because she sees how much you love spicy food. Well, sometimes, it’s a lie that should be appreciated because she’s willing to try something new for you.

7. Your bank account doesn’t matter.

>> All women want a guy who is financial stable and independent. And often, he must be able to assure her a future with no financial problems. This doesn’t mean that you have to be very rich to have a girlfriend! You just need to at least have some money. :P

8. I like spending time with your family.

>> Well it depends on how her relationship is with your family. Think about it. Do you really think that she likes to spend time with your family if everybody is criticizing her and watching her every move? On the other hand, if she has a great relationship with your family, then it will actually be a truth then. So, it depends.

9. It doesn’t bother to me if you go clubbing with your boys without me.

>> This is too good to be a truth, right? Even she says that this is ok, she will definitely be upset if you do. They hate to feel second best to a night out with the guys, and accept this in order to make themselves seem less pathetically needy. If you choose to go, well, perhaps reassure her in different ways such as not dressing up or looking your hottest etc. But you better think twice before you go.

10. I’ll be fine.

>> Well, she often says this to not make you worry. But sometimes, she may not be fine. So, you will need to analyse the situation in order to determine the truth of this statement! :)

Well, it’s important to know that lies are said for a reason. And you need to determine the reason behind the lie before you make any judgements of your girl. It’s a tough process but you need to let her know that it is important that the truth should always be made known. And this all goes down to the basic need of letting each other know their true feelings.
